Thought meets the elements.
Wind, fatigue, an anchorage, a decision at the helm. Maritime practice gives thought a physical measure and asks what an idea can sustain in the world.
Sea. Passage. Transformation.
The journeys of summer 2026 are complete.
The work they set in motion continues.
I returned to the Aegean to bring a long-held idea into lived experience.
In summer 2026, that intention took physical form: island paths, Athens, three Saronic voyages and the coast of the Peloponnese. Sailing required decisions, attention and responsibility. The distances between the imagined journey and the journey itself became part of the work.
Back in Hamburg, the question has changed: what can I make from what I have lived? AEGEAN TURN names this passage. AEGEAN CODE is the developing artistic language through which its images, memories and fragments may acquire a lasting form.
Wind, fatigue, an anchorage, a decision at the helm. Maritime practice gives thought a physical measure and asks what an idea can sustain in the world.
A return to a harbour or a ruin brings the remembered place into contact with the present. Belonging remains a question that walking, looking and writing can keep open.
A photograph, a sentence, a cut. Selecting and composing the traces of a journey is a way to act in the present, and to make something that can be shared.
The completed journeys and the maritime archive are the starting points. Films, essays and photographic sequences carry the enquiry forward.

Sifnos, Athens, three Saronic passages and the Peloponnese. The photographic record of a summer spent walking, navigating and observing.

Earlier passages, poetic beginnings, photographic journals and films. The long wake behind this return to the Aegean remains available to explore.
Open the logbook ↗Songlines of Becoming, Frames of Places and the wider CODE cycle remain working directions for the material now being developed.
Could an independent cultural practice grow from these crossings of travel, thought and image-making?
AEGEAN CODE ENTERPRISE is the name I am exploring for that possibility: a small, sustainable undertaking in which writing, filmmaking and maritime experience could support one another.
Its form is still open. The journey has given it material and a direction; the practical and economic questions remain to be worked through.
These are possibilities under consideration. No programme, launch date or booking offer has been set.
